Laura Claas
Partner at NJP Grotstollen

The firm was established in 2000, as NJP, by three partners and, in 2009, changed its name to NJP Grotstollen following the arrival of Dirk Grotstollen.

Today, NJP Grotstollen has six senior and three junior partners who deal with a wide range of practice areas, especially transportation, labour, administrative, and company law. The firm also acts on behalf of clients in property-related and inheritance cases.

After her traineeship at NJP / NJP Grotstollen in 2008/2009, Laura has started working there as a lawyer in June 2009, after passing the Second Exam and being admitted to the bar.

She specialized as a lawyer in labour, administrative and traffic law. She passed the notary public exam in 2016 and was admitted as a notary public in 2017.

The opportunities which were offered to Laura in the office from the beginning, such as further trainings, working independently from the very beginning and the friendly contact with the other lawyers, supported her to make her way from trainee lawyer to employed lawyer and to senior partner.

The married mother of a school-age daughter appreciates the compatibility of a responsible work and family.

This works especially well because she can always rely on her partners, who understand the balancing act between work and family with a young child.

As Dirk Grotstollen and Laura increasingly act as notaries, Laura`s specialization has shifted more towards real estate, corporate, inheritance and inland navigation law, although she still likes to handle employment, administrative and traffic law mandates.

After her first participation in a TEN AGM in 2012, she is convinced of this network and that it can be helpful for clients. Recommending a qualified lawyer whom you know personally is beneficial. She appreciates the possibility of getting information and help from abroad quickly and has already been able to help various clients with this.

Besides her work, Laura loves to spend time with her family. She likes to be out  in the – rather little known – but beautiful nature of the Ruhr area. She loves to jog and all other sports. On vacation she likes to go hiking and skiing.
